For 2d, Clue is Examine but miss parts reversted.
I had Look Past.
Examine but miss: Examine = Look, but miss =
look past. Parts reversed = Past which is part of Past reversed to PaST.
However this now appears incorrect. Any suggestions.

2d examine = look over
(miss = overlook) reversed
