Ta much Bellandme - I had avers for declares instead of avows. Thanks also Les40 - Imust have gone wrong due to a wee WHISKY (Scotch) and not the Irish stuff - WHISKEY!

To this day, can't keep AVER & AVOW straight, & I suspect same goes for setters. (see Chambers)

Re WHISKY, I saw you advocated it as a toothache remedy! Sure, or whatever else ails you.
Not a connoisseur, & rarely imbibe, but Canadian & American stuff is gross; only for mixing with something that will kill the taste.
Neat -- Scotch it is, single malt! Rather expensive here; taxes.

Hi SYZYGY - Ihave never tasted American or Canadian whisky so I cannot comment. When it comes to SCOTCH WHISKY there is no such thing as a bad whisky - just that some are better than others! Some ice with it is just the job. NEVER lemonade - what a waste of whisky.
