i can get 'snort'(Take Charlie - cocaine) out of my head but i can't see any justification.

Thanks - I'll work with 'snort' as a possibility. And I'm sorry, I forgot to say that some clues in this crossword contain a misprint and some clues contain an extra word.

primarily 'to see Rovers' - tsr, plus on,= trson.
ground - anagrammed would give Snort, leaving Abbot as a spare word?
