Could also be Enbranglement

Its an anagram of gentleman with some left over letters either BERM or BERN

Probably M for male, but I can't see the rest.

Embranglement - anagram of gentlemen with "m" and "bra" for undergarment.
I first came across this word in Dorothy Sayers "Nine Tailors", where one of the bell-ringers got himself embrangled!
