Cheers Lionheart
It wouldn't let me print off the PDF, It's ok though, I got it to print off the MS Word doc.
I will have a go at it later

I used the PDF version and it's fine, so the problem isn't at your end, Lionheart.

Thanks Lionheart for the crossword. I've managed to finish it with a bit of help in the top left hand corner. Also discovered a new word at 27a - you're never to old to learn! I recently finished all your other crosswords which you kindly directed me to. Love doing them on the screen rather than printing.

@aristo... it took a little while to get back in the swing of it but I enjoyed making this one. Hope you like it :)

@ Les40... glad you got it to work! I know some computers can have trouble with particular formats so I like to provide an alternative. Enjoy :)

@MaisieP... I use a piece of software which provides a list of words which will fit with what is in the grid already. I like to choose some of the more interesting suggestions. I must confess that 9a, 27a & 22d were all new to me but I liked them :)

Must admit I don't follow clue & solution to 11a;in 26a does the first letter refer to the first word?

Hi greedy kite...

26a...you're correct. I've found clues elsewhere using the letter both singly and repeated
11a...I googled the answer looking for ideas and it came up alongside the second word of the clue, the last part of the clue being the 'type'.

Hope this makes sense :)

That was great fun. I too was flummoxed by 11a, but I get it now that I've seen your explanation. I didn't know that "second early" was a standard term. I particularly liked 23a. Re 3d: Because I play a certain instrument I spend a lot of time in one. :)

11a unfortunately neither in Chambers nor in Bradford's, but I'll believe you!
26a could only find double!
