Payers fits the letters I have, sorry forgot to include them! Mind explaining both of the answers? I get where you got 'JET' from, but 'SET'?

One of the 9 million meanings of "set" is "ready"

1 ready = set (like ready,set go)
2)a petition can be known as a prayer. Prayer less the R in republican leaves payer, a consumer, which I added the s to for the plural.

If that is the answer to the second one (and I can't think of another answer) it is a very poor clue as the wordplay doesn't include the "s" to give the plural.
