sorry what do you mean by 'two clues side by side' or I am being thick?

No you are not being thick BUT the crossword is called Left and Right and is a plain crossword with a slight twist. All the across clues are actually two clues side by side, leading to answers to go in the spaces of the numbers indicated

So 21 & 22 is 6 & 6

N ? E ? E ? is the bit I am struggling with and the other bit is COMICS which both Dandy & beano are

So the whole clue is "sounds like Beano, Dandy etc"
