All the answers relate to pubs, they are situated in York, but you do need to be from York to, any would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

I've never been in York and even if I had I'm very unlikely to have been in a pub! So these are pure guesses.

1. COMPASS or something similar.

Thanks very helpful, Lodestone(compass) now magnet, cross keys and Britannia all sound correct, march hare, there is no pub in York called that, it must be another tea party guest

Cheers Jim, are you from York?
If so Shabby Irishman, is not the Tam O Shanter, as I have a clue saying "You can wear this poem by Robbie Burns.
