By the way Druid not everyone gets the Mail, and you only gave part of the clue, which was:18d) Genus of poinsettia, not bay, produces bliss. (8)

More people can help if you put all the details in.

The plant poinsettia =euphorbia pulcherrima.
Less the b for (not bay) gives us euphoria/bliss.

this a perfect example of why posters should give the whole clue.
jws gave a correct answer but did not know that a B had to be removed.

it's also a perfect example of why answers shouldn't be given without the clue etc being provided. posters will never learn to give the clue if they get the answer anyway.

In fairness Tony, Druid is new to the site and I've tried to steer him in the right direction for the future.

no you didn't. you gave the answer knowing what the clue really was. but that answer made no sense with the clue given by whatsisname. just say give us the clue or no answer.
