Ha ha. Just posted you on this, it's aster. The logic behind it was a cartoon character called Gaul Asterix!

Animated, so that was part of the clue but really they do expect you to know an awful lot, well this setter does.

See your point, but homophones are always a little more difficult to set in my view. If you have a local accent for example.
