How about 3 down, 2 words, I think the second word must be DOWN. Clue is: Forced to make a decision about Daniel not at university,
N I E (6 letters)D W (4 letters) could it be nailed down perhaps? and if so why? (apart from Daniel being an anagram of nailed)

You go UP to University, and you can be sent DOWN (for being naughty!)

Nailed is an anagram of Daniel and down is the term used when someone is expelled from university.
