I think this one was quite tough: however can anybody explain the logic of 6d- my answer is republishes but can,t get the "clubs" bit. Also 14a and diptera

Ireland is a REPUBLIC. Take out clubs (C) to make way for woman (SHE) and son (S) gives REPUBLI(c) SHE S = REPUBLISHES.

"Over" in the clue is in the sense of "again" so "issues over" means "issues again" and defines the clue as REPUBLISHES as opposed to simply PUBLISHES.

DIPTERA is Sink (=DIP) and an anagram of (w)ATER. That is to say WATER with (W) leaving.
