Or perhaps not. Nag doesn't really work as a noun in that sense, does it? Can a nagging feeling be a nag?

OK. Chambers doesn't have it as a noun with that meaning, but OED has it as act of nagging. Must say I've never heard anyone say, "I have to learn to cope with this nag," unless, say, referring to a spouse.

Chambers gives NAG as a scold (noun singular) especially a woman.
