We're seriously stuck on the very last clue of this year's Christmas 'Giant' crossword from the December issue of my ex-work location's site newsletter. We've done about 400 clues but have one little bu**er left.

Clue is 'I will perhaps?' and we have S_L_ as the pattern for a 4 letter word. The '?' in the clue indicates that it is a cryptic clue and we are fairly sure that we have the two contributing clues correct.

Can anyone offer a suggestion please ? Our best guess is 'solo' but we can't see much of a link between this word and the clue.
