I set crossies just for pleasure. I wonder if some of you excellent regulars would like to try a few of my clues? Since they're new, no letters!

Your ELDERLY CAT'S PUT me at a loss. It's PRETTY CALLUSED of you; I'm UTTERLY SCALPED, and all over the place- like SPLUTTERED CLAY. I have only three. Of course those old defensive weapons always get me. (Query: Does that make them offensive?)

The weapon can be used offensively I wouldn't fancy being hit by it

"Defensive" is so often euphemistic, isn't it?
