I've got an issue with 8dn. I have the last letter as an i, making it a plural word (according to Chambers 2008), but the clue suggests a singular answer. Can anyone corroborate this?

Plural ornaments can still be called decoration. Putti, for example, are just that.

We often say things like "a facade whose only decoration is lintel festoons" (not that I've heard those very words lately).
