i can't find catchup as a definition in my chambers.

if you google it you will see that it is an alternative noun for ketchup as paul says

the only one i know is catsup the american version, did google it but doesn't give that spelling. unless someone can point me to it.

The Webster's Dictionary of 1913 defined ‘catchup’ as: “table sauce made from mushrooms, tomatoes, walnuts, etc. [Also written as ketchup].”

This is in wiki under "ketchup" down the page
DM is not known for over subtlety in its clueing; the rest of te clue should confirm the veracity of the answer for you.
