I am stuck on one last dingbat the answer to which has something to do with the festive season.

There are two words:
"FASH" is at the top of the box and the word "FOOD" is at the bottom.

I have seen an answer "Christmas dinner" but how that is derived I have no idea.

Has anyone got any clues or inspiration to offer?

Seems a little tenuous to me but I appreciate the explanation.

May I point out that you have not fully stated the clue, which would help you to understand. There are two letters that you have not shown in your clue that make all the differene ( and it is not the letter L)

I have typed the clue exactly as it appears on my sheet - there are no extra letters.

Or are you talking to Blue moon?

I am not misleading you at all, on my copy there are two letters close to the left hand side of the box , one level with the first word and one level with the second word. If your copy does not have these, then there is the reason why you were unable to see the corellation.

There are no letters on my copy either just Fash and Food

Can you tell us what the missing letters are?

It might give us a chance of solving the dingbat

I take it that's a no then?
