Thanks so much - my Mum is thrilled. Aristophanes - are you sure Tangusdale is a vilage / town or city. We can't find any evidence of it - except for the name of a holiday cottage?
A couple more she now says she can't work out.
1) Command a worker to take our things (8) A
2) Brill! Is it going oddly? (7) B
3) Alternative in which alternative (7) H
4) Hot Rome's fairly even matched (7) O
5) Seafarer and worker in 12 (9) N

Thanks,

C

Sorry, the request was irrelevant: 12 here = NOON, then "enclosing" RM (Royal Marines) + ANT (=worker).OK?
