seems obvious but can someone explain the answer, please.

How about: Reach high = tower. To er (to the queen) W (point/west)in it.

The point is W in the Loyal Toast which is TO ER.

Could it be TOWER? People burnt at the stake at the Tower of London, could be said to have been toasted by royalty.
