First time I've posted on here, so let me know if I break any ground rules! Stuck on following three: 9d Diagram lacking cloudy city(4) - L - A; 21a Case in carriage(8) I - S - - - C - (possibly instance? But don't know why)and 22d One appearing in Queen musical(5) - - N - E. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hi Thea, many thanks for such a prompt reply! 'Agra' means that my 12a must be wrong (gloom?)so I might be asking for help with that shortly! 22d has 5 letters, so unless I'm missing something (and I probably am!) 'Anne' doesn't fit in.... At least I did guess 'Instance' correctly!

You are on the right track with Gloom, but take away the m and add another letter in front (you will then get the Northern building)

Of course! I started with igloo and worked backwards. Oh dear, must try harder! Thanks again, Jazzgirl. Now I can start on the New Year one with a clear conscience!
