Anyone else annoyed at the answer to 21a last week - B & W or B/W. First time I've seen symbols used in a crossword and not like Myops at all - or is it really the original Myops who is compiling?

I remember Stinkers where Myops had used the following as answers:

QE2
The 1812

Never seen amphersands or slashes before. Have to say I went for bow (as in Rainbow).

I went for bow too. I knew Myops when I was very young so he must be a good age now!

Bow for me too. He has done signs and numbers before. I just wish I had remembered that earlier.

Myops has mellowed with time - Wee Stinker used to have numbers/symbols regularly - I remember one week(before computers were commomplace)where no one got it right!

Myops remembered my name 30 odd years after he last taught me. He's not that old, he retired about 6 years ago.

Thanks for that Big Dave. I don't remember the article but it was very interesting. Myops was my Sunday School Superintendent in the 50s so I remembered him as being much older than me!
