Grid A 5d Chemist putting up fifty grand - noble or Nobel?? noble(grand) would fit with my answer of t(h)eeing for 11a, but then where is the chemist?

I presume putting up 50 = moving 'L' up by one to go from Nobl to noble.

That clue is one of the four mentioned in the preamble - has to be Noble.

That part of the preamble seems rather pointless.

Re the highlighting, I can see two possible "words", but not "names".

Last piece of wordplay that mystifies B 5A: "tart is ..." The answer is obvious.

Also, B 17A. The plural appears to be Latin; ends in E not S.
That would work if it was clued as "shells" but not "cigars".

I now see TINY TIM bottom of Grid B going across, must search GRID A for similar.
I don't see crypic bits of those 2 clues either syzygy
