I can see the reediness (tones like a clarinet) and will work on it.

I have re-read the preamble and it is possible that the solution is 9 letters which have to be entered in the 12 cells in a manner I've yet to establish.

Because of the method of entry of the 'normal' clues you'll find that you will have a lot of blank cells in the completed grid.

A very clever construction I thought.
