GOO seems to be the 'sentimentality', which suggests GOOSE. ???

It's the N which is wrong. It seems bleeding obvious now you say it, Andy but I've looked up every word -ANE, having dismissed the obvious!

I'm not doing this puzzle, but it looks to me like it might be gone goose.
