Hi all,
There are several occasions when I can't, or can only partly, explain the answer. This is one.
24a: "written record about model on order" (8). Checked letters are ?o?p?s?d

Answer is obviously Composed, but why? Definition is 'written record' = composed; I can see model = pose, and order = COD. How do you explain the "m"? Why is it model ON order rather than model IN order?

Another is 2d: "As bearer of burdens, priest carries pound". Answer is Llama. Since when is a priest AMA?

MAny thanks, Francis & Tonyw.
The answers are obvious (with hindsight!).
Although, I'm slightly uncomfortable with pounds plural = L. What is a good example where L is used in the plural? (Unless the setter is assuming L = £).
