Tune up? Pump up? Can't see why either, really
Also 34 ac (to get started on bottom right)
Avoiding work in school subject? Give it a whirl (8,4) Only have a P 5th letter of first word

Thank you Gaperon. Pick up, of course. Have slight excuse in that I scrambled my brains two weeks ago in a fall and am awaiting a repair job to my face. Such as can be repaired, that is!
