Well, there's only so many hours in
a day and I must've spent half of
yesterday's tackling this monstrosity!
I'm pretty sure about what I've put
in (although I don't understand some
of them) and am now left with these
two:-
6 AC. - "When reversing, run over
early race leader?
I have --C-R and can only think of
"PACER" although it may be the
name of an early tribal leader.

6 DOWN - "Red or white ingredient
responsible for gassy
element in beer"
I have --N-T and can't fathom
this one at all!

6 Down is PINOT - a grape used in red and white wine. Zero in a pint (of beer)

Sorry, I meant Oxygen (O) being the gassy element - not zero

Thanks momc, Brackendale and Smiffy.
Guess we'll settle for PACER and
PINOT.
