There is a River Yare which is navigable,on the Broads.

One of the meanings of "yare" according to Chambers, is "easily managed" I remember from aeons ago a film (what was its name?) in which Bing Crosby, on honeymoon with Grace Kelly on his yacht, saying "It's a yare boat".
