25 Down 5 letters: Tell Tales C _ OPE i think this is a scottish slang term cos its not in any dictionary i know.

'clipe' looks a good idea (can also be 'clype').

Neither clipe or clype can be correct because the answer to 32 across Edinburgh railway station (8) is waterloo and the last 'o' is the third letter of 25 down hence C _ OPE is right. I am still looking for the elusive 2nd letter.

Damn it yes of course! That means the 3rd letter of 25 down is 'y' not 'o' so the answer is CLYPE ! I am soo embarrased lol
