That puts the cat among the pigeons for me because I have an answer for an earlier clue - AEOLIC - and yet the solutions are supposed to be in alphabetical order.

I think the answer is ALE rather than ADONIA because that fits the alphabetical order and "sales" covers "ale", which can mean a festival.

You are correct orson & I apologise for my misleading answer.
I think I was trying to 'manufacture' a word to fit in with the letters, I had at the time, on the centre right of the grid-
A???IA.

I have since completed the puzzle and I should have come back here and corrected my posting.
