Good morning. Hope you enjoy this week's effort. J

I set crossies just for pleasure. I wonder if some of you excellent regulars would like to try a few of my clues? Since they're new, no letters!

Please withhold solutions till 5 pm (GMT) to allow others to have a go.

1. Top Queen record makes a comeback without being graphic (9)
2. Run over a lighter (5)
3. May be pulled up in order to obtain poisonous growth (9)
4. Jaguar could be led by playful model (9)
5. Dry out disorderly drunken fighter (7)

Enjoyed this as always Jolan. Thanks for the entertainment. A few really tricky ones but all fairly clued.

My guesses are as follows.
1-Pictorial. Definition Graphic. LP reversed to become PL around “topped “Queen (V)ictoria
2-Barge- to run over or a lighter as in a type of ship
3-Monkshood- a poisonous plant- play on words it is what someone in an order or a monk would pull up- his hood
4-Archetype-Definition model- Jaguar is an e type and playful is arch- hence archetype
5-Soldier- Definition fighter- anagram of disorderly less dry. Drunken is anagram indicator.

Another set of challenging clues Jolan.

I agree with DJA except for 2 which I thought could be SPILL - double definition.

Couldn't get 1 and 2. Thought 2 might be barge, but couldn't really see the "run over" bit. Ditto spill. Thought 3 was a great clue.

Thanks DJA, Ixion and Tony.

Well solved DJA + good explanations/

Nice to see you Tony. Glad you've ignored the ignorable.

Tony's right with witj SPILL = run over = a lighter.

Just for interest, the "could be" after Jaguar was to signify not all J's are E-Type.

Hope you enjoyed them. I enjoy it too.
