Each numbered clue contains an extra word which is superfluous to its solution and acts as a diversion. Please give the solution and the extra word.

5 Klootch - a squaw - anagram of hot and lock making key the extra word.

2. Think I'm barking up the wrong tree but is it PROFIT? The spare word being "about".
