Hello, therogue! Yet another "cross" word.

Morning Mr A! Hope all's well after you recent snow storms?

Speaking of heavy blows...Yes, we got only a few inches of snow (elsewhere in MA they got three feet!), but never lost electricity. Trees down everywhere.
Only word I can think of is FIERCE, but can't see reason for it...

I already had 'army' but that made 24a. -I-M-E and I couldn't find anything to fit. The E could be wrong. The relevant clue for that answer is;-Nonsense about the line being repeated and repeated.(6) T-I---
