This is the last clue I need to complete my first cryptic crossword.

I assume it's: Sounds like / You weary / of African city.

Four letters. _y_e

All I can think of is "Tyre" (sounds like tire), which is the name of a lebanese city. Lebanon is not in Africa. Cairo is too long and I don't know any others.

Any clues?

Could you tell us whether that's the exact clue or not?

I didn't mean to sound rude! I'm just saying that even if Tyre had links with Africa, it's not an African city.
