gareth took me ages too but I think 29a) is right wingers. Its using campanologists (RINGERS) and (WITH)and (G) from gallons making up the hardliners i.e. right wingers.

23d) is I think kowtow (ko being the knockout punch) I'm sure you'll figure out the rest.
