Afternoon All,
6a Nick Nolte's first to get in drink (4)
I have * N * P . It all seems too vague for me.
14d Where you might see the flowers swing to and fro close to Epping Forest (4, 6).
I have * O * K / GARDEN. Could be rock... but again, I don't get it at all!

Any help and/or explanation would be greatly appreciated.
THANKS IN ADVANCE, Chris.

Thanks Andy!
For the info, and the perseverance! What a convoluted clue!
6A could be SNIP (ie, N introduced into SIP.... Nolte's first letter into drink etc etc) but what exactly is the clue asking? (Beats me!)
Regards, Chris.

I think you are right. The only thing I can think of is when people refer to something as "it was a snip" it implies that they were the first there or got a bargain. Sorry it's still a bit woolly though.

The answer is SNIP. The misdirection is Nick Nolte because the definition is Nick obtained by taking the first of Nolte and put it in SIP a word meaning drink.
