My last two, and I am baffled. 1a Explode in climax with last bit of music loud (9), and 2d Alumni with theories are prepared to offer a course at Oxford (7,10)

I have Fulminate for the first, but obviously wrong, and something Latin as Anag. for 2d?

Please help...
