Hi Folks,

I'm still stuck on two from yesterdays crossword.

Repeat plan to capture bird's father P-O---A-E
I think procreate, but not sure. Propagate also fits but can't see why it should be.
Second clue is Athlete's maintenance 7,7. First word must be running followed by -E-A---
Middle letter of first answer is also sixth letter of second one.

Would be grateful for any suggestions.

I think it will be 'running repairs', which I guess makes procreate right, but I can't see why!

It is PROCREATE = to father.
Anagram of REPEAT around ROC (bird).

I knew I would kick myself when I got the answer to Athlete's maintenance!

Good to get an explanation why the other is procreate - I assumed it was repeat rearrranged but the roc bit I was struggling to justify.
