The second one looks like Scheme(plan) - an anagram of 'seem'+ 'ch'(church).

Problem with scheme is it ends in R, unless I have that wrong, clue was Polish from Ulster (6) I put "LUSTER"

what does "newson" mean is it a word or a name ?
