Could it be put (eased) as in "eased into place" in order (anagram) - ed sea- next to river (r) = Red Sea?

Is it just me who thinks these sort of clues are idiotic. Words that don't really exist made up of meaningless abbreviations etc. I suppose someone will say "it's in chambers" as if that makes this sort of nonsense alright. Even the people who do them don't understand what they are doing.

Danny, it's just you. Where Mephisto is concerned "it's in Chambers" is good enough. That's the whole point.
Thanks to AJT1 for explaining RED SEA - my last in and I didn't understand it. All there in Chambers of course.
