Is anyone doing this quiz? The answers all contain a river, and I am stuck on the last few, including :

American happily dominated by another domestic pet in the Midlands (4,3)

Part of the States which is not part of a State (8,2,8)

Musical misnomer from Tarsus's resort (3,4,6)

Any hints appreciated.

The third one could be interpreted as sad! The composer is in there somehow.

Thanks, Rusty and NeilM. Presumably 3 is an anagram, but I'm lacking inspiration at present.

NeilM - on reflection not an anagram as an answer but a clue. Thanks.

When I said I was down to the last few it was nearer the last 12 : Another couple are

Fishing tackle is intense round about Exmouth (5-4)

American banker leaps to command the air here (8,7)

Thanks for clues,
