I HAVE AIRSPACE FOR 10 ACROSS ,SO I AM LEFT WITH -T-P FOR 5DOWN LOOKS LIKE IT MUST B STOP BUT WHERE IS THE CONNECTION WITH LITTLE DARLINGS?

Isee where u r both coming from but 'stage' also got me thinking 'stop' as in bus stop .I often have trouble with these four letter words(!)
