I give up - can't get the last three. Any help gratefully accepted!

17d Everything is about heaven-bound clergyman in melody, save the introduction (8)
u-i-e---

20d Plant I fed to rodent, ending in cat (6)
v-o---

24a/22d What one should put on English ship, fish among red nuts (5,4)
----- c---

Did think perhaps violet and universe for first two but can't see why.

17d Everything is about heaven-bound clergyman in melody, save the introduction (8)
universe
Everything = Universe
is = is which surrounds
Heaven-bound clergyman = ver (Rev backwards/upwards)
Melody = Tune
Save the introduction = take off the first letter of tune = une
un i ver s e

v-o---

Violet = Plant
Rodent = vole
I = I
Ending in cat = t (last letter)

And the last one:
24a/22d What one should put on English ship, fish among red nuts (5,4)
----- c---

What one should put on = Dress code
English ship = ss
Fish = Cod
Red Anagram
I don't have the crossword any more but I think the single E was shared between the two words in the puzzle where they crossed, a bit unusual.

I think 24a/22d is a bit simpler than that. English ship = E SS, + cod, within anag. of red.
