Thoughts so far. Whales - to thrash
Pens. compound or male swans.
ounces- big cats.
Lambs-sounds like lams - to thrash.
anybody any better thoughts or reason to choose one of the above? many thanks in advance.hadcoosen lambs as suggested by sudokulover but now doubt!!

The problem is, that being a single word clue, its open to a lot of interpretation.

It could also be RAMS.

thx dot dash dot dash. rams another one for the list. yes no extra clues being only one word. I dont think the no 26 as in clue number helps either.
