Another "do-able" Listener. Come on you xword fans - have a go!

As I've finished the Jumbo, I'll maybe give the Listener a go - it often looks impenetrable!

Well, I appear to have finished!I haven't spotted the phrase - does this matter? (And did I make things harder for myself by ignoring the bit in the preamble - 'The letters of the phrase are omitted in the wordplay of thee seven clues whose answers contribute to it in the grid.'?)

I saw the phrase but didn't bother to find the 7 missing letters either. The phrase said what the 7 unclued words were.

Thanks - sometimes the preamble in various crosswords (eg the Spectator)hinders rather than helps me, so it's good to know it didn't matter with this one.
