Still looking for hints on clues 54 and 60.

What are the clues?

60) Rubbish about doctor with a measure of surprise (9)

I got reprimanded on another thread for giving too easy clues so am reticent to contribute. Perhaps you can help Delta with these two?

Hello rinkleez - at the risk of getting into hot water yet again here goes:

The answer is another word for purchase but not anything to do with buying. First letter is an abbreviation for a pound + another word for always + a word for taking a long time. Good luck.
