Answers appreciated and explanations welcomed.

four letters -A-C (He puts stuff the wrong way up.) Can only think of MARC but don't see reason.

seven letters. -I---E- (One trying to get the batter out of a jug.)

Eight letters. --E-A-I- (Traveller's joy for example in changing climates).

Marc - cram(stuff)backwards.
Pitcher - a baseball term(hence 'batter') and also a jug.
Clematis - anagram of 'climates')
