I'd just like to say that the 'Jim' - who last posted - was not me.
It may be that that 'Jim' is actually 'JimB' and that his 'b' key is broken.
Or even grandpa, 'JimA'.

Note: the founding father of the 'Jim' family (called 'Jim', strangely) is believed to never have had access to a computer.

Hi JimC. I'm neither JimA, JimB nor, as you noted, JimC. Just Jim, I'm afraid. I happened to spot the query about the Saturday crossword while I was trawling for help with the Jumbo. I finished the Saturday one yesterday.

Re grapeshot can you please explain how Jim?

I'm not a Jim, but I suspect he would say:
goggles = gapes, wearing 'r' = grapes, baking = hot, all meaning slugs.

Or something similar.

R(ight) inside (to wear) GAPES (goggles) before HOT (baking) = GRAPESHOT (wild slugs / bullets)

I guess I must be suffering from that slow finger syndrome that affects so many posters on this site!
