Can anyone shed some light on my last clue

22a) Celebrities entertaining king and queen in the emperor's new clothes? (8)

I'm thinking Starkers
Celebs = stars
king and queen = k er

Can't see a connection with "emperor's new clothes", is it from a literary work.

The emperor had no clothes in the tale and so was....
